23.10.09 - The Winery Alvaro Domecq S.L. opens its doors to visitors
The sherry winery Alvaro Domecq SL, of D. Alvaro Domecq – descendant o fan ancestro based on sherry, celebrated mounted bullfighter and founder of the Andalusia Real School of Equestrian Art, has opened its doors to visits.
In 1998, the members of the five branches of the family lead by D. Alvaro Domecq, decided to return exclusively to the world of wine, dedicating themselves to the artisan production of high quality wine using the old and prestigious family Aranda “soleras”*, the oldest sherry winery warehouse.
*Note: According to Wikipedia: “Solera is a process for aging liquids such as wine, beer, vinegar, and brandy, by fractional blending in such a way that the finished product is mixture of ages, with the average age gradually increasing as the process continues over many years. A solera is literally the set of barrels or other containers used in the process.”
